Founded in 2011 in the wake of the recession, Kodiak Building Partners set out to reimagine the construction industry with a locally driven, people-first model. From its roots in Colorado, the company has grown into a national leader with over 140 locations in 29 states and a team of more than 6,700 employees. Kodiak’s success lies in its ability to support family-owned businesses while staying deeply connected to the communities it serves.

When Kodiak sought to establish a new headquarters, they turned to Kestrel to bring this vision to life. The full-floor office was designed as both a workplace and a reflection of Kodiak’s story. Many of the design elements, including finishes and materials, were sourced directly from Kodiak’s own partners and local businesses, reinforcing the company’s commitment to collaboration and community.

The resulting space blends warm wood tones with sophisticated yet inviting finishes, layered with branded graphics that share Kodiak’s history and values. Beyond aesthetics, the headquarters was created to foster connection and collaboration — an environment where employees feel at home and visitors experience Kodiak’s culture firsthand.

More than an office, the headquarters is a hub for innovation and growth, anchoring Kodiak’s presence in Colorado while symbolizing its impact nationwide.
