Interior Designer / Architect - Seattle


Kestrel Design Group is seeking a full-time Interior Designer or Architect with a professional degree in interior design or architecture to help build our Seattle office. This position will require some initial travel and onboarding with our team in Denver, Colorado, in which all living and travel expenses will be covered by Kestrel. We are looking for an applicant who wants a highly creative and active environment to build upon their career. Interior Designer applicants must have 5+ years experience and will have experience in all relevant phases of a commercial project such as programming, schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration. Interior Designers are also involved in design research, project management and furniture selection. Applicants will be responsible for working alongside Interior Designers within the Seattle and Denver studios and will work directly with principals of the firm.

Skills

  • Understanding and ability to execute all project phases from programming through construction administration
  • Highly skilled at space planning, finish selection and furniture specification
  • Understanding and interpretation of local Seattle building codes
  • Creative design and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Revit (all work done 100% in Revit)
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office Products
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other design and engineering professionals
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to manage other studio projects and designers within the studio


Experience

  • 5+ years minimum of experience in Interior Design or Architecture, preferably commercial design
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture (or similar field)
  • NCIDQ certification or architectural license preferred but not required
  • Confident and comfortable speaking with others and presenting ideas
  • Project experience in Revit
